How To Make Your Own Oat Milk
You might love it or you might hate it, either way there is no denying that oat milk has risen to the top of the plant-based milk rankings for many. So you could shop for oat milk at the grocery store or you can make it yourself at home and you won’t believe how easy it is to make clean and delicious oat milk! Here are the steps you need to follow to make your own oat milk at home:
Ingredients:
½ cup of rolled oats
3 cups of water
½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
⅛ teaspoon of sea salt
Grab your ingredients
Step 1 is to gather your ingredients, most importantly your oats! For a more creamy milk, I would recommend using rolled oats, but you can use your preferred variations of loose oats.
Blend
Once you have all your ingredients measured and ready to go, you can add it all into your blender and pulsate until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
Strain
So now you have a pretty chunky oat milk you could even call it an oat smoothie, but to make it oat milk, you’re going to need to strain this mixture with a cheesecloth or a strainer.
Strain again
I always like to give my oat milk an extra strain to ensure that all the oat pieces have been removed from the milk and the product is nice and smooth.
Chill and enjoy
Once you are happy with the consistency and texture of our oat milk, you have successfully made your own oat milk at home! Be sure to chill it in the fridge for a few hours and then enjoy it with your morning coffee and more!
